I discovered a leak in the mains water supply just before a planned trip to Italy. I was about to cancel, when Nick and Josh came to my rescue. Josh did all the work while I was away, sent me photos of what he’d done to reassure me that he had found a way around my front steps and had saved my rose and wisteria, all at a very reasonable price. I’m 100% happy with his work and highly recommend the company.

Josh arrived as promised, the day after my call for help in laying a new lead-free water supply pipe in CB4 across a pavement and down the side of my victorian semi. His quote arrived a couple of days later and he made sure he kept me in touch with discussions with Cambridge Water and his suggestion to them of an an alternative route saved me several thousand pounds. He stuck to his quote and the work was completed exactly as planned. I haven't had such good service from a contractor for many a long year!

We had a great service from N K Bateman helping us with a water leak from a supply pipe under a driveway. The guys worked around problems, suggested best and cost effective solution and completed the work quickly. After they left, you could hardly notice there was any digging done. Five stars.

Nick and Josh replaced our lead water main in September 2023 and installed a new garden tap in the middle of our garden in 2025. They worked quickly and tidied up well so you can't tell where the holes were dug. They were polite and nice to have on site.

Cambridge Water's on-site Water Diversion Delivery Team (OnSite/ Doocey/ N K Bateman) have delivered three separate programme critical Horizontal Directional Drill installations since 20/11/2024. Additionally, they have worked outside hours to achieve key connections which enable and expedite Utilities Diversion programme, specifically at Eltisley Junction. Vital to achieving the aspirational Q2 2025 Open to Traffic Date. They are collaborative, motivated and responsible, raising awareness of programme risks and challenges well in advance of issues materialising. This allows sufficient time to plan and negate any delays / impact. The teams are professional and courteous - they perform quality work to a high standard and often go above what they are contractually obligated to do, to accommodate the dynamic nature of winter site activities. They are open and engaging and have been exemplar in both their attitudes and on-site conduct, maintaining high standards when it comes to procedural compliance (PPE Standards, HoSWA parameters, local Water Network Operation considerations, defects notifications and correction). It has been a pleasure coordinating this team on site.

Josh and his team responded very quickly to our leaking supply pipe. As a busy launderette water is obviously a priority. Work was completed promptly and neatly. We would recommend them in the future. Very friendly team.

We had a slow leak in the supply pipe on our property. The resolution was to lay a new pipe. This was completed on a Saturday, Josh and Nick plus three others to dig pits, run the mole tool, connect everything and make good. All done in 1 day and the reinstatement is faultless. Strong recommendation!

Following a leak in the shared water supply at our Church, Josh & his team responded quickly to investigate and propose a solution. They provided the quote very quickly & agreed dates for the work to be done. On the two days that they worked for us, they took any concerns we had seriously and explained clearly how the work would be done. They turned up exactly on time I was advised to replace my water main. They explained exactly what they would be doing answering any questions I had. When the job was completed everything was returned to exactly as it was this included gravel and paving you would not of known they had been there. Highly recommend.

I thought it appropriate to write to you with regard to the water main replacement works taking place in Beechwood Ave and associated roads.

I would very much like to compliment the site team for their professionalism and consideration. I personally haven’t had one word of complaint about the works or indeed the road closures. The team don’t make much noise, they move their diggers or dump truck if someone wishes to get out, and always with a smile. The whole site is extremely clean and tidy as well.

Our very old, very long metal water pipe finally bit the dust and we were left with no water to four properties using our main. We got a card via our Cambridge Water Rep. They were not able to help, as it is our own supply. Our insurer's chosen firm was unable to commence work quickly and it appeared we'd be without any supply for at least 3 weeks. I rang NK Bateman, spoke to Josh, he quickly responded and, after an initial assessment, we had a working supply installed within days! The team of Luke and assistant were very quick, tidy, efficient and effective. We were extremely pleased with the work done and the costs were reasonable. Would definitely recommend this company. We got the contact through an engineer of Cambridge Water as we needed to repair a water leek in our front garden. When we contacted Nick and Josh they replied quickly, had a look and send a quote. They arrived when they said they would, found the leek, repaired it and then made the ground good again. Would highly recommend them.

N K Bateman laid the water main to our development of 9 self-build plots. They were fantastic from the word go. We knew very little about how to go about the job, but they took the whole project on and dealt with everything that was needed. Josh who looked after us was easy to get on with, he turned up when he said he would sorted any problems out, the work was delivered on time and to the highest standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending N K Batemen for water services or using them again.
